At FunnelStory, our mission is to empower customer success teams with AI-driven insights. As the engineering team building this technology, we often discuss how we leverage AI tools not just in our product, but in our own daily work. In this post, my colleagues and I wanted to share our individual perspectives on the AI tools we integrate into our engineering workflows at FunnelStory.

Preetam

I'm Preetam, co-founder and Chief Architect, focusing primarily on architecture and back-end systems. Integrating AI into my process is key. My primary code editor is Cursor, which provides helpful AI assistance directly in my development environment, especially useful when designing and implementing core services. For more complex problem-solving, exploring architectural patterns, or getting different perspectives on code, I regularly turn to both Gemini and OpenAI/ChatGPT. A crucial part of our process is also using our own internal AI-powered code review tool via a GitHub Action. It’s incredibly valuable to 'dogfood' our AI capabilities this way, applying them directly to enhance our own code quality and architectural consistency.

Suraj

I'm Suraj, a Front-end Engineer at FunnelStory. My focus is on building intuitive and responsive user interfaces. I use Windsurf as a development tool, which assists with streamlining my coding process. Additionally, I frequently use V0 for rapidly prototyping UI components and exploring different design ideas before committing to the final implementation, significantly speeding up the initial development phase.

Agni

I'm Agni, a Software Engineer II specializing in back-end development. My work involves building new features, fixing bugs, and tackling performance and optimization challenges. I've integrated AI tools like Cursor and V0 into my workflow to boost productivity and streamline development. Cursor helps me brainstorm solutions, write trivial tests, and get suggestions for code improvements. V0 is great for quickly building small tools that support development and debugging tasks. I also use Claude to refine architecture design documents before sharing them with the team for feedback.

Pulkit

I'm Pulkit, a Senior Developer focusing on both the core product features and the website. I rely on AI daily to enhance my productivity. I use the Windsurf editor for quick code suggestions directly within my development environment, which helps accelerate coding tasks. For more conceptual discussions or guidance on database interactions, I use ChatGPT, especially for refining SQL queries and exploring different approaches to complex problems. Furthermore, I leverage the OpenAI platform API directly to assist with various documentation and planning tasks, such as identifying missing areas in design documents, generating efficient pull request descriptions, and quickly drafting API specifications.

Mamta

I'm Mamta Mariam Harris, a Senior Software Engineer at FunnelStory, focused on backend development and building systems that support both product features and internal workflows. I actively integrate AI into my development process, with three go-to tools: ChatGPT, NotebookLM, and Cursor.

I use ChatGPT as a rapid-thinking partner—whether I'm debugging edge cases, refactoring code, or pressure-testing design ideas, it helps me think through problems quickly and from multiple angles. NotebookLM is my go-to for navigating complex documentation and stitching together research across internal and external sources. Cursor ties it all together with AI built directly into my editor, making the iterative process of building and refining backend logic faster and more fluid.

As you've heard from each of us, integrating AI tools isn't just about the product we build; it's a fundamental part of how we build it at FunnelStory. Our engineering team leverages a diverse set of AI capabilities daily, from specialized AI-assisted code editors that live within our development environments to versatile large language models that help us brainstorm, debug, and refine our work.

We also incorporate more focused tools for tasks like rapid prototyping and even utilize our own internal AI systems for crucial processes like code review. This hands-on experience directly enhances our individual productivity, improves our code quality, and fosters better collaboration.

Ultimately, by actively dogfooding and integrating AI into our own workflows, we not only build FunnelStory more effectively but also gain invaluable insights that drive our innovation as we empower our customers with AI-driven solutions.
